Using medical assistants to increase productivity
The “Four Hands Are Better Than Two” course focuses on leveraging medical assistants (MAs) to enhance productivity in clinical practice. This program, created by Leslie Fletcher, MSN, RN, NP-BC, founder of InjectAbility Clinic, provides 1 CE credit and aims to empower participants with essential knowledge and skills. Topics covered include the “Teamlet Model,” where clinicians and MAs work closely together, and the value of employing MAs for busy practitioners. Participants will explore the average compensation for MAs, their scope of practice, and the benefits of using MAs as scribes and imaging specialists. The course also delves into how MAs can enhance both the practitioner and patient experiences, offering insight into MA job descriptions before, during, and after patient encounters. Additionally, four case studies demonstrate how MAs facilitate “add-on” procedures. Attendees will also learn to develop MA training documentation and job descriptions. Interviews with InjectAbility MAs provide practical perspectives, making this a comprehensive course for any practitioner aiming to optimize their practice through effective MA utilization.
